Streaks & Streak Freezes
How the streak system works and how to protect your progress.
The streak is Walkeon's core motivation system. It counts how many consecutive days you've reached your step goal.
How Streaks Work
- Complete your daily step goal before midnight → streak increments by 1
- Miss a day without a Streak Freeze → streak resets to 0
- The flame icon in the header shows your current streak count
Midnight is determined by your device's timezone. If you travel, Walkeon automatically protects your streak — see Travel Protection below.
Streak Flame States
Your flame icon changes color based on your progress:
| State | Flame Color | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| Completed | Bright orange | You hit today's goal |
| In progress | Amber | Working on it |
| At risk | Red | Past 8 PM and below 50% |
| Broken | Gray | Streak is at 0 |
Streak Freezes
Streak Freezes protect your streak on days you can't reach your goal. They activate automatically at midnight if your goal wasn't met.
How to Earn Them
- Complete your step goal for 4 consecutive days → earn 1 Streak Freeze
- Maximum 2 Streak Freezes at a time
- When you have 2, you stop earning until you use one
Streak Freezes don't add a day to your streak — they only prevent it from resetting. Your streak count stays the same on frozen days.
On the Calendar
Frozen days appear with a snowflake icon ❄️ instead of a checkmark, so you can see exactly when they were used.
Travel Protection
If Walkeon detects a timezone change of 2+ hours that shortens your day (traveling east), it automatically protects your streak with a travel shield ✈️.
- No action needed from you — it's completely automatic
- Shows an airplane icon on the calendar for that day
- You'll see a brief "Detected travel — your streak is safe" message
Vacation Mode
Vacation Mode is a premium feature.
Going off-grid? Activate Vacation Mode in Settings before your trip:
- 31 days per year — use them in chunks or all at once
- Must be activated before the day starts (can't apply retroactively)
- Shows an umbrella icon ☂️ on the calendar
- Your streak stays safe while you disconnect
